Who is covered?

Special education and other special educational assistance can be offered to students whose development requires special consideration. Consideration must always be based on the student's educational needs.

Special education and other special educational assistance includes

Special educational assistance for parents, teachers or others whose efforts have a significant impact on the student's development.
Special teaching materials and technical aids, which are necessary tools for the student.
Teaching in primary school subjects and subject areas. Organized taking into account the student's learning requirements.
Teaching and training in modes of functioning and working methods with the aim of remedying, limiting or preventing the effects of mental, physical, language or sensory functional difficulties
Personal assistance - to help the student overcome practical difficulties associated with schooling
Specially arranged activities that can be given in conjunction with the student's special education

Team or individual lessons?

As a starting point, a student should follow group teaching, but in the assessment of the content and scope of special education, it can be assessed whether individual education should be implemented.

In special cases, students can temporarily receive all teaching as one-to-one teaching. In that case, the teaching time can be reduced proportionately in relation to the minimum total duration set by the Folkeskole Act. The number of hours for one-on-one teaching should include at least 8-10 weekly bell hours for kindergarten classes and 1-3. grade level, at least 12-14 weekly bell hours for 4-6. grade level and 14-16 weekly bell hours at 7-9. grade.

The framework must always be concretely assessed in relation to the individual student's condition and with the main aim of putting the student in the best possible condition to return to group teaching.

We have 1:1 teaching for the usual subjects from primary school and secondary education.

In addition, we can set up one-on-one tuition for non-traditional subjects.

How and when is it implemented?

It is assumed that a student needs special educational assistance and/or special education and it is expected that the need ismorethan 9 clock hours per week, the student must be referred for an educational-psychological assessment (PPV). This is done via Pedagogic-psychological-counseling (PPR), which is part of the municipal body. Is the needlessthan 9 clock hours per week, however, PPV can be initiated if the school situation gives rise to serious concern. Bylessthan 9 clock hours per week, the support is implemented within the framework of regular education.

Special education and special educational assistance must be given to children whose development requires special consideration. It can be, for example, psychological, physical, linguistic or sensory functional difficulties, which give reason to assume a need for special educational assistance.

Special educational assistance can be initiated without the above first being implemented, if the student is in a particularly difficult situation which necessitates immediate action on the part of the school. If it is estimated that the measure will last more than 3 weeks, a PPV must be carried out as soon as possible.

Need less or more than 9 hours?

Is the needlessthan 9 hours of support per week per week, it is implemented within the framework of regular education. This can be done, among other things, by 9 hours of support from oneteaching assistant or supplementary teaching next to the student's regular schedule at school, which can, for example, take place in connection with a team viaonline class orindividual tuition.

Is the needmorethan 9 weekly clock hours of teaching, then special teaching and/or special pedagogical assistance is implemented outside the framework of regular teaching. Teaching can take place at a lower grade level than the grade level that the student is in in terms of age.

How and where?

It depends on the needlessormorethan 9 hours of weekly support. A teaching hour is calculated as 60 minutes of teaching.

Less than 9

With support within the teaching framework, we as an online school can offer our teaching service via ateaching assistant which can provide support and teaching to the student via the screen, while the student is within the general framework of the teaching.

In addition, we also offer supplementary teaching in one or more subjects. Supplementary teaching typically takes place outside the student's regular teaching hours. Supplementary teaching can take place asindividual tuition or associated withteam and strengthen professional knowledge by following individual subjects, cf. the student's individual needs.

Supplementary teaching is given to the necessary extent to pupils who have either changed schools or been without teaching for a longer period of time. In addition, to the extent necessary, it must be given to students who need support for other reasons and who cannot be supported only during regular teaching hours.

More than 9

Special education must follow the same rules for subjects, number of hours, competence goals, skill and knowledge goals, student plans, final exams and tests as general education.

If special education or special educational assistance is requiredmorethan 9 hours a week, the student can be taught for a shorter or longer time in a special class or special school. This can happen in the following ways:

Belonging to a regular class ceases, as the entire teaching is given in a different setup
Belonging to both a special class and a regular class, where the student receives teaching from both places
